FAQs About Lash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are among the most popular trends in beauty right now, and at The Skin & Body Spa, we’re excited to offer this service to our Nashua clients. Extensions are the best way to get the lashes of your dreams, but because this is a newer service, it’s one that many people still have questions about. To help you understand it better, we’ve put together this convenient FAQ guide to address your most commonly asked questions. Read on, then contact us to schedule your new lash extensions!

What Are Lash Extensions?

You can think of lash extensions as semi-permanent false eyelashes that don’t cause any damage to your natural lashes. Depending on the style, they can add length, volume, or a hybrid of the two to create a stunning lash look. Many of our clients love how their extensions make them feel more put together without makeup because the lashes eliminate the need for mascara or falsies.

What Is the Application Process Like?

Eyelash extensions are applied individually to a client’s natural lashes using an eye-safe adhesive. Expect the process to take anywhere from 90 to 120 minutes, depending on the lash style you choose. Prior to your appointment, The Skin & Body Spa asks that you schedule a consultation with us, so we can help determine which style will best suit your natural eyelashes and ensure you’re not allergic to our products.

How Long Do Lash Extensions Last?

With proper care and caution, a full set of lash extensions will last as long as your natural lash growth cycle, which ranges between four to six weeks. For best results, however, we recommend scheduling a fill between two to four weeks after your initial set is applied.

How Should I Care For My Lash Extensions?

If you want your eyelash extensions to look perfect for as long as possible, we recommend following our care tips:

  • Don’t get them wet for the first 24 to 48 hours, which includes tears, showering, and makeup remover.
  • Brush through your lash extensions regularly with a clean mascara wand.
  • Avoid applying mascara or oil-based products.
  • Avoid playing with, picking at, or curling your lash extensions.
